Nikos Theodorakis will be appearing for the first time in a very special worldwide live streaming concert, dedicated to the famous composer Mikis Theodorakis. Two years ago, Nikos Theodorakis founded “Mikis Radio”, a radio program which plays exclusively the works of Mikis Theodorakis. In an orchestra consisting of 9 exceptional musicians will be playing, whose intentions are the study and enlightening of the well known and unknown music of the composer. Conductor of the Orchestra is Teo Lazarou, who has been a close associate of Mikis Theodorakis for 14 years.
This unique concert of Nikos Theodorakis intends to travel the music of Mikis Theodorakis to the Greeks all over the world, unite them and bring them closer to their country, in this difficult time, when the only way to communicate with each other is music.
Music from “Zorba the Greek” and a variety of his most famous songs will be heard.
Mikis Theodorakis’ music is recognized worldwide as an inheritance of Greek and International Culture in every aspect of life, for example Symphonies, chamber music, musical themes for films and poetical compositions in cooperation with famous poets such as Axion Esti and Canto General.
The year 2021, we will be celebrating the 200 years of the Greek Revolution, united with one voice we will sing to the music of Mikis Theodorakis, the greatest contemporary Greek Composer.
